Payments

Regulation 7(1) of the Employment Agencies Act 1973 states that payments must be made to models within 10 days of being received by the Agency. In line with other leading child agencies, we ask that parents waive this right and request quarterly payments to be made. If fees owed are less than £20 they will be carried forward to the next quarter. If immediate payments are required a handling fee of £5 will be charged each time. Please note that payment in this business is usually slow and can often take up to six months or longer to come through.

Commission

The current rate of commission included in all moneys earned through the Agency for children and their chaperones is 25%. For photography an additional service charge from the Agency to the photographer applies, but this is at no further cost to the model.

Account Queries

Any questions about accounts should be put in writing within one month of payment. Please include date, location, product and amount.

Bookings

A booking starts at the time given by the Agency and ends when a model leaves the set. Invoice slips must be sent to the Agency at the end of same week.

Punctuality

Models must arrive at studios ten minutes before the time booked. If a model is late or fails to arrive, they may be liable for the fees of other models, photographer’s time, studio hire etc. In unavoidable circumstances where a model knows they will be late, The Agency must be informed, so that the studio can be advised.

Direct Bookings

No Bookings are to be arranged directly between the Client and the Model. All bookings and follow-up bookings for the same or future jobs must be made through The Agency.

Disputes

The Agency must be notified immediately of any disputes at studios or on location for a shoot

Availability

It is essential that the Agency know when models are not available for any reason in order to accept or refuse bookings. Please inform us as soon as possible of any holidays, illnesses, appointments, school outings etc.

Chaperones

Children must be accompanied by one adult only. In extreme circumstances where additional people have to attend a shoot, the Agency must be informed. It is the responsibility of the parent/chaperone to ensure that a child is presentable, well behaved and co-operative at all times.

Wardobe

Models must always have plain, clean, pressed clothes in good condition. A slight pattern is sometimes permitted, but logos and motifs must be avoided. Underwear should be plain white. Babies should have disposable nappies and white vests or bodysuits. Children must never wear clothes and shoes to be used for a modeling assignment on the journey to the studio.

Photographs

Photographs must be taken for the Model Book once a year. The Agency prefer to use an appointed photographer to ensure that all photos are of a professional standard. Colour snapshots must be provided regularly of babies and also of older children if their appearance changes after the black and white photographs are taken.

Sole Agent

Any child joining the Agency must be prepared to be represented solely by Bubblegum. It is general practice throughout the business that children cannot be with more than one agency.

Resignation

The parent /guardian of a model wishing to terminate their contract must notify the Agency in writing giving at least 30 days notice.
